Lara Bingle is the ultimate Aussie pin-up, thanks to her Sydney beaches roots, glowing skin and laid-back style – and they’re just a few of the reasons why we love her (her too-cute relationship with homegrown Hollywood heart-throb Sam Worthington is another).

We caught up with the 27-year-old on the set of her summer Cotton On campaign, Bring It On, to get the inside scoop on her new tanning line The Base By Lara Bingle, her exercise regimen (wakeboarding and all), her go-to apps and who she thinks is Australia’s most stylish woman – it’s not who you expect.

What do you love most about working with Australian brand Cotton On?
They’re always thinking of their consumer. They’re always doing interesting things in the market that continue to excite me. The clothes are also phenomenal quality at a really great price point. They serve as the perfect basics in my wardrobe.

What was the highlight of shooting the new Christmas campaign?
We shot the latest campaign in Santa Monica. Shooting anytime at the beach are some of the best days that come with my job.

How has your relationship with Cotton On grown over the years?
I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the Cotton On family for so many years. They have allowed me to be so creative with designing my own collections within their brands and they continue to make me feel so inspired to achieve whatever I set out to do.

What does your summer exercise regimen include?
High-repetition and light weights are my secrets to toning. Long-distance, medium-speed running is my go-to for cardio, plus anything outdoors – I particularly love wakeboarding, swimming and surfing whenever I can.

How is The Base By Lara Bingle coming along?
I’m trying to challenge myself more by taking risks. I have found being hands-on in the development and creation of my own brand has been demanding and rewarding. It's been a great learning curve.

It’s my favourite shoot to date. I felt so humbled to be given the opportunity.

I work hard on things I’m passionate about, I’ve stayed true to myself and I try to embrace all life throws at me with delicacy, respect and kindness.

What five apps can’t you live without?
